Don "Kent" Garrison, Jr. (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Don “Kent” Garrison, son of Donald Kent and Doris “Nadine” (Jones) Garrison, was born on February 22, 1950 in Windyville, Missouri, and departed this life on February 22, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was 69 years old.
Kent was reared in the Windyville, MO area and attended school at Windyville, Buffalo, and Fulton Schools. After his schooling, he started working for himself and traveled all over the country working in different Carnivals, Flea Markets, and Pool Halls. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting knives, and going to casinos. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and cooking shows, and then buying the ingredients and trying to duplicate what he had seen. Kent was very loyal to his family and enjoyed spending time with them fishing or traveling around sight-seeing.
Kent was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Clara Jones. He is survived by his companion of 40 years, Eva Arzola; his children, Misty Joseph of Springfield, MO and Josh & wife Justine Summers of Springfield, MO; his parents, Donald & Nadine Garrison; one brother, Dawayne Garrison of Stover, MO; two sisters, Dori L. Garrison of Clarksburg, MO and Carmen Cochran-Krissinger of Radcliff, KY; and five grandchildren, Martina, Loretta, Hank, and George Joseph and Adrian Arzola. He also leaves six nephews, two nieces, five great-nephews, five great-nieces, and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Chapel. Escorts will be friends and family in attendance. Interment will be in the Scrivener Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
