Don W. Reid's Obituary
Don Wayne Reid, son of Ralph Samuel and Alma Louise Davis Reid, was born December 2, 1942, near Drynob, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, May 21, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, five months, and nineteen days. He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Ida Robinson and Doris Ritchey; and a brother-in-law, Leon Builderback. Don is survived by his mother, Alma Reid, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Bonnie Jean Reid, Louise Builderback, and Emma Hill, and her husband, Bill, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Rosetta Richardson, and her husband, Curtis, of Eldridge, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri, and lived all of his life in the Lebanon area. Because he was born with a disability, he was unable to do any physical work, but bore his illness with great courage and determination. Don had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith. Early in his life he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activity was fishing. He liked spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews. He possessed a delightful sense of humor, and in spite of his illness, loved to laugh and entertain others. Don was a loving son, brother, uncle and great-uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
