Donald Blain's Obituary
Donald Charles Blain, son of Cecil and Ruby E. Lairson Blain, was born April 5, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, October 29, 2011, in St. John?s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, six months, and twenty-four days.
On June 14, 1979, he was united in marriage to Loretta Ann Ruble, and they shared the last thirty-two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patty Sue.
Donald is survived by his wife, Loretta, of the home; two daughters, Pati Blain and Ashley Blain, both of the home; two sons, Don Blain, and Jerry Blain, and his wife, Jennifer, all of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jerry, Emma, Donnie, and Joseph; a brother, Carl Blain, and his wife, Frankie, of Stockton, California; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and received his education there. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Navy. After he and Loretta were married, they made their home in Kansas City, and lovingly raised their family. Donald worked for the American Bakeries in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years. He and Loretta moved to Lebanon, Missouri, about fifteen years ago.
Early in his life he enjoyed fishing, and always liked watching wrestling. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
