Donald Bobb's Obituary
Donald Edward Bobb, son of Clifford A. and Marion Barbara Babler Bobb, was born March 3, 1945, in Monticello, Wisconsin. He departed this life Sunday, April 17, 2011, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, one month, and fourteen days.
His father preceded him in death in 1990.
Donald is survived by a son, Christopher; his mother, Marion Bobb, of the home; a brother, David Bobb, of Kingman, Arizona; three sisters, Mary Hawley, and her husband, Keith, of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Joy Newlin, of Lexington, Tennessee, and Carol Threlkeld, of Crawfordsville, Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Janesville, Wisconsin, and attended high school there. He then earned a degree as a special baker from a local technical college. For the next several years, he worked at various jobs in different fields, and was also an assistant to an interior decorator. In the 1980?s, he moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and Donald worked as a handyman for several years.
Donald was a member and preacher in the Pentecostal faith, and had been a Royal Ranger scout leader.
He enjoyed writing poetry and had some of his poems published, including ?Come? and ?A Prayer?. He had served as a little league baseball coach, and liked attending swap meets, going to the coffee shop, collecting cars, and refurbishing old furniture. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on his family and friends.
Donald was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
