Donald Dotson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Donald Eugene Dotson “Papa” passed away quietly on September 10th, 2018. originally from Buffalo, Missouri, he lived most of his life in Kansas City before retiring in Brighton, Missouri for 31 years.
Donald is survived by his wife, Dolores JoAnn Dotson of 64 years: his son Randy Dotson, his grandson, Aaron Dotson, wife Kimberly and great-grandchildren Kameron & Kaleb Dotson; granddaughter Jessica Solomon and husband Drew Solomon, also survived by youngest sister Virginia Dotson Potter.
He is preceded in death by his sons: Stevie and Kent Dotson, four brothers: Bill Dotson, Billy Dotson, Clifford Dotson, Vernon Dotson and four sisters, Goldie Dotson, Geneva Dotson, Blanch Dotson, and Lucile Dotson.
Donald served in the Army during the Korean War from 1950-1953. He was also a dedicated worker. He worked for his only employer General Motors in Kansas City for 38 years, he never missed a day’s work. As much as a dedicated worker that he was, he was also a devoted father and grandfather. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren. He loved being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took the role as “Papa” as a very serious task.
He was also a problem-solver who often took on unwanted projects around the house and the farm. A man of few words, he was a selfless, humble, kind and helpful to all those around him.
A private family service will take place at a later date at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri.
