Donald Gene Gannaway (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Donald Gene Gannaway, born February 3, 1949. He passed away April 9, 2024. Donnie lived his entire life in Cedar County, in the same house he was born into and the same bedroom he slept in as a child. Donnie hated change. Everything needed to stay the same as it had always been. He even continued to drive mom’s old car after her death. He said, “it was a good old car”, not sure it was. He had heart surgery and was in the hospital for over two months. Numerous stents and eventually had a pacemaker inserted. He was so afraid he was going to die that he forgot to live. After mom passed away, he depended on Paul and Dixie Wallen, John Clemons and John and Kim Fox. I am forever grateful for their help. I’m sure there are other people I need to thank and forgive me for not mentioning you. Donnie is survived by his sister, Nancy Hasse, and husband Kim L. Haase; two nephews, Matt Haase and wife Molly of Kansas City and Danny Hasse of Columbia, MO. He also survived by a great niece, Elizabeth “Betsy” Haase of Kansas City. Please, in lieu of flowers, donate to your favorite Charity. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Lindley Prairie Cemetery.
