Donald Ray Herrmann (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Donald “Don” Ray Herrmann was born July 6, 1951 in Denver, Colorado to Raymond and Enger Marie Meison Herrmann. He departed this life Saturday, June 14, 2025 in his home in Lebanon, Missouri. He was seventy-three years, eleven months and eight days of age.
Don was raised in several areas, as his family moved frequently. Following graduation, Don joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Following his two-year service as a Marine, he re-enlisted in the United States Army where he was a skilled rifleman. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and loved his country.
On December 19, 1981, Don was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Shumate. They shared over forty-three years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Enger Herrmann; and his brother, Ron Herrmann.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Herrmann of the home; two daughters, Maj. Anne Marie Herrmann and Maj. Ellen May Herrmann; a brother, Morris Herrmann of Lebanon, Missouri, and several friends.
Don was a truck driver and also worked for the Department of Corrections for seven years. He was very proud of his daughters and their shared time in the military. He was a solid individual and someone you could trust.
In his spare time, Don enjoyed fishing and camping. He liked the excitement of driving a stock car for a few years and was good at building engines.
Don loved and cherished his wife and daughters. He was a caring and trusted neighbor and friend and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 20 at 3 p.m. at the V.F.W. on Highway 5 North in Lebanon, Missouri.
