Donald Holbrook (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Donald DuWayne Holbrook, 52, of Bolivar, MO passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his home in Bolivar, MO.
Donald was born August 20, 1965 in Ft. Sill, OK to Ancil and Irene Welsch Holbrook. After faithfully serving his country in the U.S. Army as a communications specialist, he made his home in Bolivar to work as an Army recruiter. After his discharge, he decided to open Bolivar Vacuum, which he owned and operated for over 25 years.
Donald had many hobbies in his life. He enjoyed collecting coins, gardening, target shooting, and fishing. He especially enjoyed doing these hobbies with his son, Hayden. Donald was proud of many accomplishments in his life, but nothing made him prouder than being a father.
Donald was often very soft spoken and gentle, but he could be known to harass those he cared for, all in good fun. He also enjoyed debating the political topics of the day, and di his best to remain cordial while doing so.
Donald was a loving son, father, and friend. His tendered heart left a mark on all who knew him, and will be cherished as it is carried forward.
Donald is preceded in death by his brother, Jurgën Welsch.
Donald is survived by his loving son Hayden Holbrook of Springfield, MO, as well as his parents, Ancil and Irene Holbrook of Radcliff, KY. He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Kalyn Rogers.
