Donald Hyder's Obituary
Donald Dennis Hyder, age 72 of Bolivar, passed away at 9:30 am Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar after a lingering illness.
Mr. Hyder was born on December 27, 1938 in Coldwater, KS the son of Joseph Lorenzo Hyder and Ruby Louise (Kissee) Hyder.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Ellis on June 3, 1962 in Springfield, MO and to this union one daughter was born.
Don was a retired Industrial Asbestos Worker and a member of the Fair Grove United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Bolivar Elks Lodge. Don loved raising and showing his quarter horses. He was also a hunting enthusiast and loved the outdoors hunting for game all across the country.
He was a graduate of Fair Grove High School in 1957.
After the death of Nancy?s mother, Don and Nancy raised her two sisters, Mary (Ellis) Terry and Sheila (Ellis) Swihart.
Surviving is his wife Nancy of the home, his daughter, Dawn Denise Shive and husband Allen of Mt. Hope, KS. His two sisters-in-law Sheila (Ellis) Swihart of Bolivar and Mary (Ellis) Terry and husband Doug of Fair Grove. A brother-in-law, Larry Ellis and Sandy of Willard, MO. Also two granddaughters, Sydnee and Grace Shive. 5 nieces and nephews and a host of special cousins.
A visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Butler Chapel.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Fair Grove, MO with Rex Warren officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital or the Citizens Memorial Hospital Hospice.
