Donald Lamar (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Donald “Donnie” Leon Lamar, age 60 of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 in Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla, Missouri. At the time of his passing, he was sixty years, nine months and twelve days.
He was born March 24, 1962 in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Leon Lamar and Roxanne Maxwell Lamar. His parents preceded him in death.
He was raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1980. He then moved to Oklahoma and married his high school sweetheart, Betty Ward Lamar, on December 26, 1981. They eventually moved back to Missouri and Donnie went to work for Tracker Boats, hauling boats across the United States. He was thought of as a “Human GPS”. He was always happy and smiling.
Donnie later worked for the City of Lebanon in the Animal Control department and retired from that position.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty; a daughter, Heather Jennings and her husband, Jared of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Scott Lamar and his husband, Ron Young of Lebanon, Missouri; his siblings, Ronnie Lamar and his wife, Karen of Eldridge, Missouri, Ed Waterman and his wife, Naomi of Holton, Michigan, Debbie Waterman and her husband, Sammy of Beebe, Arkansas, Sherri Vasser of Cushing, Oklahoma and Bonnie Eidson of Lebanon, Missouri; his step-dad, Vernon Waterman “Cabbage; his grandchildren, Emily Jennings, Kyler Jennings, Abby Jennings, Isaac Jennings, Lilly Jennings, Colton Jennings, Zoey Jennings, Preston Young, Blayten Rollins, Daniel McFarland, Zepplen Rollins, Braxton Young, Kessyn Young and Amir Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
When Donnie wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, spending time with his grandchildren and watching trucking videos.
Donnie had a good sense of humor and was a hard worker. He was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
