Donald Ledbetter (Seymour)'s Obituary
Donald Wayne Ledbetter, age 77 of Lebanon, Missouri passed away Wednesday January 18, 2017 at Glenwood Healthcare Facility in Seymour, Missouri. He was born January 21, 1939 in Joshua, Texas to Drew Jefferson Ledbetter and Ruth Elizabeth (Willis) Ledbetter, he was one of five children. He was married in 1957 to Jessie Rea Smith and to this union three children were born. Don spent most of his life in Texas and was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad out of Cleburne, Texas and the United State Postal Service out of Fort Worth, Texas. He had been a member of the Church of Christ and the VFW while in Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a stillborn son David Wayne Ledbetter in 1974; a granddaughter Raven Sky Ledbetter in 2000; two brothers Bobbie D. Ledbetter and Royce “Josh” Ledbetter as well as a sister Ellen Landau.
Don is survived by two sons; Scott & Tresa Ledbetter of the home in Lebanon, Missouri and Dusty Sky Ledbetter of Burleson, Texas; one brother Kenneth & Janie Ledbetter of Joshua, Texas; one sister Joyce Stephens of Burleson, Texas; one uncle Joe Weir & Susie Ledbetter of Arlington, Texas as well as five grandchildren Alysha Ledbetter, Andrew Ledbetter, Anthony Ledbetter, Johnathan Ledbetter and Cheyenne Mundy and husband Tim as well as one great grandson Mathayus Mundy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday January 27, 2017 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Glenn Gohr officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the Springfield Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
