Donald Lee Holt (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Donald Lee Holt, age 85, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Saturday evening, November 6, 2010 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.
He was born July 5, 1925 in Polk County, Missouri to Lee Holt and Etta (Boren) Holt.
On July 2, 1983 he married Carole J. Forman in Bolivar, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Donald was a salesman for a wholesale beverage company in Joplin, Missouri for 35 years before retirement in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar, Missouri and the Howard S. Keeling American Legion Post #138 of Bolivar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Carl, Leonard, Powell and Harvey Holt, a sister, Selma Kaudle, a stepson, Doug Short and a step great granddaughter, Mariah Short.
Donald is survived by his wife, Carole J. Holt of the home, two stepsons, Terry Short and his wife Peggy of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Randy Short and his wife Suzanne of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, a stepdaughter, Jeanette Prewett of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, 10 step grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren, five nephews and one niece.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Goff Cemetery North of Burns, Missouri with Reverend Billy Russell officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri with Military Honors provided by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri. The song, “Amazing Grace” will be sung by Katherine Dodson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30am at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel.
