Donald Ray Oliver, Sr. (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Donald Ray Oliver, Sr., son of the late Benjamin F. and Mary E. (Willoughby) Oliver, was born on February 26, 1936 in Strafford, MO and finished his fight and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2026 in Bolivar, MO. At the time of his passing he was 89 years, ten months, and 29 days of age. Don was raised and attended school near Strafford, MO. After graduation, he went to Oregon to pick berries. He met the love of his life, Virginia, and they were united in marriage on August 30, 1954 in Vancouver, WA. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive him. Don was a hard-working and loving father, always providing for his family. He worked for many years as a diesel mechanic, working long hours while instilling in his children the value of hard work. He enjoyed fishing, reading his bible, and listening to or telling a good joke. He was very talented musically and could play any instrument by ear. Don was often described as ornery, and his mischievous smile will be greatly missed. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; his parents; 14 brothers and sisters; an infant son, Daniel; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Oliver. He is survived by his seven children, Paul & wife Tina Oliver of Hermitage, MO, David & Yevette Oliver of Tunas, MO, Donald Ray Oliver, Jr., Melanie & husband John Long of Long Lane, MO, Herschel & wife Tracie Oliver of Tunas, MO, Mary & husband Kendall Moore of Lebanon, MO, and Tracey Oliver of Tunas, MO; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great and great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Autry officiating. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund.
