Donald Ray Robertson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Donald Ray Robertson was born May 7, 1938, in Doniphan, Missouri, and departed this life Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in Lake Regional Hospital, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, five months, and twenty-nine days.
On August 3, 1958, he was united in marriage to Catherine Marie Kuhlmann, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Steve Huffman; and a sister, Gayle Huffman.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Catherine, of the home; a daughter, Dorace Burton, and her husband, Thomas, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Donald Robertson, Jr., and his wife, Tawnya, of Cadet, Missouri, David Robertson, and his wife, Stacy, of Nixa, Missouri, and John Robertson, and his wife, Pamela, of St. Louis, Missouri; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Bill Robertson, and his wife, Rose Marie, of Newport News, Virginia, Max Huffman, and his wife, Janie, of Myrtle, Missouri, Denver Huffman, of the State of Illinois, Roy Huffman, of Ware, Missouri, John Huffman and Bob Huffman; two sisters, Dorothy York, and her husband, Ray, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, and Kathy Robinson, and her husband, Brett, of Doniphan, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Doniphan, Missouri community. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Navy for nine years. He attended Brookes Bible College in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked in construction and was employed by Pet Incorporated for ten years. He had served in the ministry in both General Baptist and Freewill Baptist churches for a total of thirty-five years. He served as pastor in churches in Cedar Hill, Kirksville, Festus, and Houston, Missouri, Hatfield, Corning, Clinton, and Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and in Miami, Oklahoma.
Donald was currently a member of the Community Baptist Church near Lebanon.
In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf and playing the guitar. His family was very dear to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a very kind and caring gentleman with a true Pastor’s heart.
Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a good friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. A visitation will follow.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
