Donna Beard (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Donna Sue Beard, daughter of Kenneth Dean and Lilly Virginia Sparks Shelton, was born July 9, 1940, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, February 16, 2013, in her daughter’s home, near Stoutland, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, seven months, and seven days.
On September 24, 1960, she was united in marriage to Billy Lee Beard, and to this union four daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Angela Lea and Jennifer Ann Beard; and a brother, Garry Lee Shelton.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Dana Meads, and her husband, Jeff, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Heather Milligan, and her husband, Andy, of Stoutland, Missouri; a son, Steve Beard, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandsons, Chase, Trenton, Tyler, Coleman, and Dalton; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1958. After she and Billy were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. Donna was a devoted homemaker to her family and also worked in the Bakery at Consumer’s Market for a number of years. She was a very talented baker and cake decorator.
Donna had professed her faith in Christ, and was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church for over twenty years. Later, she had attended New Hope Baptist Church for several years, and recently had attended Lebanon Family Church with her daughter, Heather.
In her spare time she enjoyed baking, watching her grandsons’ sporting events, and shopping. She was particularly a fan of shopping on QVC, the television shopping network. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.
Donna was a loving mother, and grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
