Donna J. Boring (Seymour)'s Obituary
Donna Jean Boring, daughter of James Rush and Laura Edna (Sweet) Shaver, was born May 19, 1934, in Diggins, Missouri. She departed this life on February 23, 2015, at Glenwood Healthcare Center in Seymour at the age of eighty years, nine months and four days.
On August 11, 1953, she was united in marriage to Marvin Huston Boring and to this union one daughter was born. Marvin and Donna were happily married almost sixty years before his passing on February 2, 2013.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents, and one sister, Jeannette Moody of Mansfield.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Theresa Marvene Boness and husband, Todd, of Ava, Missouri; her grandson, Matthew Steven Grant of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Kathleen Forte and husband, Sal, of Branson, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other dear family and friends. Donna grew up in the Davis School community. She attended the Davis School through eighth grade, and then was a student at Fordland High School where she graduated in 1951. Prior to her marriage, she attended Southwest Missouri State College. After attending college for one year, she began teaching at Findley School where she taught two years. She left Findley School and taught the upper elementary classes at Diggins School for two years. While teaching, she completed her B.S. in Education in 1961. In 1966, she obtained her Masters in Education at Drury University. She retired in 1992 after teaching thirty-eight years, with twenty-six of them in the Ava School District. She also substituted for fifteen years in the Seymour School System. Donna was saved on November 7, 1965. She served faithfully at the First Baptist Church in Seymour. She attended the Diggins Baptist Church services held monthly at the nursing home. Her love of life was working with children. She was very well-liked and respected in the field of education. She leaves a legacy of helping children and adults, and a faithfulness and unconditional love to those who knew her. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories she created for those she loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Glenwood Activity Fund or First Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
