Donna J. Christner (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Donna Jean Christner was born May 29, 1954 in Camdenton, Missouri to Paul Downing and Ruth Crall Downing. She passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehab in Lebanon, Missouri. She was seventy years, one month and four days of age.
Donna was raised in the Camdenton area for most her life and was a graduate of Camdenton High School.
On August 31, 1983, Donna was united in marriage to Clifford Christner, Sr. and they were blessed with four wonderful children. They shared over thirty-three years of marriage before he passed away on May 19, 2017.
In addition to her husband and parents, Donna is preceded in death by five brothers, Jimmy, Earl, Adrian, John and Jerry Downing; and her sister, Betty Schultz.
Donna is survived by three daughters, Barbara Cottrell, and her husband, Michael, Christina Berry and her husband Johnie, all of Eldridge, Missouri, and Ruth Christner, of Port Charlotte, Florida; a son, Clifford Lee Christner, Jr. of Sleeper, Missouri; three brothers, Chester Downing of Macks Creek, Missouri, Gene Downing of Bolivar, Missouri and Larry Downing of Hermitage, Missouri; one sister, Barbara Downing of Iberia, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Anna, Lindsey, Paige, Tegan, Mia, Jadyn, Johnny and Jacob; seven great-grandchildren, Ella, Eli, Noah, Raven, Juniper, Ramsey and Bennett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Donna followed the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church in Camdenton and the Full Gospel Church in Eldridge.
She was a Wal-Mart Associate for several years at the Lebanon location and made many friends while there.
She loved being outside and liked working in her flower garden.
Her life rotated around her children and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were so important to her and she loved each one of them so very much.
Donna had a heart of pure gold and had a smile that would light up the room. She was a fun person to be around and she enjoyed being with her family every chance she could.
We celebrate her life and know the memories she made with us will be cherished for years to come.
Funeral service for Donna Christner will be Monday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Hufft Cemetery.
