Donna Fann (Seymour)'s Obituary
Donna Jean Fann, daughter of Hallie and Esther Smith Rorrer was born July 2, 1942 in Springfield, Missouri and departed this life on April 4, 2015 in her home in Seymour, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years, nine months and two days.
On January 2, 1960 she was united in marriage to Wendell Fann and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 11, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Tiffany Smith and a half-sister, Shirley Ann Emma Rorrer Shinebarger.
Donna is survived by three daughters, Karla Hughes and Tom Carpenter, Jeannie Julian and Sissy Smothers and her husband, Rick all of Seymour, Missouri; son, Myron Fann and his wife, Gabby of Seymour, Missouri; her grandchildren, Cody Julian and wife, Courtney, Kaley Julian and Ben Johnson, Patrick Simpson and Emily, Lindsey Smothers, Amber Fann and Austin Fann ; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Hailey Sedlacek, Madison, Carson, Kolton Julian ; brother, John Rorrer and his wife, Rhonda of Grovespring, Missouri; a sister, Hallie Louise Mason of Morton, Illinois; a half-sister, Donna Schanuth of Warsaw, Missouri ; sister-in-law, Reba Sue Murray of Springfield, Missouri; son-in-law, Robin Sedlacek; several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Donna was born in Springfield and attended Central School. After she and Wendell were married they moved to Seymour in 1961 where they raised their family. She drove a bus for head start as well as working at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield. She was a cook in the Seymour Public Schools for 9 years and worked at Hutchen’s Industries in Seymour in food service for 15 years before retiring.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, cooking, sewing, her flower garden, going to the coffee shop and spending time with her family who she loved very much.
Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many wonderful times we had with her.
No Formal Visitation is planned but friends may call at their convenience in the funeral home.
