Donna J. McCord (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Donna Jean McCord, daughter of Bill and Jessie Anthony Savage, was born May 17, 1947, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, July 31, 2020, in Cox South Medical Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, two months, and fourteen days.
On May 17, 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert L. McCord, Jr., and they shared the last fifty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Emery and Stanley Savage; and a sister, Anna Mae Bingham.
Donna is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home; three sons, Tim Savage, of Lebanon, Missouri, James Robert McCord, of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Kimball McCord, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, James, Samantha, Hayley, and David; a brother, Billy Savage, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Janice Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Lebanon area and received her education there. She worked at the H. D. Lee Factory for a while and then was employed by Independent Stave Company, now Missouri Cooperage. She lived in Kansas for several years, and then moved to Oklahoma. She worked at Wells Lamont Glove Company in Hugo, Oklahoma for four years. She later worked for Haggar Clothing in Duncan, Oklahoma and at the Indian Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was employed by Northeast State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma for several years. She and Robert moved back to Lebanon a few years ago.
She enjoyed being outdoors where her favorite activities were hunting, fishing and playing golf.
Funeral services for Donna McCord will be held Saturday, Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. at Oakland Community Church with Rev. John Uder officiating.
