I saw you today…
And it blew me away…
My friend of 40 years…
And it brought me to tears…
You said, it’s gonna be ok….
And I didn’t know what to say…
You didn’t want me to see…
So you hid the truth from me….
But now I know…
And I don’t want you to go….
We reminisce about our friendship…
And my goodness, where has the time went…
We talk about the future….
And my mind is saying ”I can’t loose her”….
You say “I’m gonna beat this”….
So I hold your hand and give you a cheek kiss….
If that’s what you need my friend….
Then I’ll play the game and pretend….
But what will I do when you leave…
And all I can do is grieve…..
I saw you today…..

Donna was my best friend for 40 years. She told me she had 3 little spots on her lung and acted like it was no big deal…. We talked on the phone but I hadn’t seen her for a while and then when I did I was so upset. I wrote this poem that day!!!!
Love you forever my friend!
Cancer or Kaw Kaw as you called it is the most evil thing in this world. But you were so strong and so positive through it all! 💔💔💔
