Doris Lorraine Burkhamer (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Doris Lorraine Burkhamer (Hammond), a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, and most importantly MIMI, left her earthly body on Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on November 3, 1958, to Fred and Helen Hammond in Edwards, MO, Doris married Donald Burkhamer on April 7, 1977, who predeceased her. She later married Francis Eugene “Gene” Hobbs on November 10, 2018, who survives her.
Doris lived a fulfilling life, dedicating herself to the care of her children: Kimberly Sue of the home, Justin (Misty) Burkhamer of Climax Springs, and Mary (Christopher) Maples of the home. She remained committed to Kimberly's care throughout her life. Doris found immense joy in watching her grandchildren grow, frequently engaging in activities such as tea parties. Her passion for gardening was evident from the numerous boxes and jars of seeds around her house. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and quilting. A devout Christian, Doris often shared bible lessons with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her brothers Mark (Karen) Hammond, Frederick Hammond, and David Hammond, all of Climax Springs, MO; brother-in-law Paul (Violet) Burkhamer of Roach, MO; grandchildren Emmilee, Wyatt, Lorraine, Tessa, Grace, Conner, Reina, Emmalee, Briley, Shane, and Maddox, along with many nieces and nephews. Including best friend Ida Berlidene Brown “Bird” of Edwards, MO.
Doris is now reunited in heaven with her parents, Fred and Helen Hammond; her first husband, Donald; Uncle Darrell Crainshaw; Aunt Anna Lois Crainshaw; and Cousin Rhonda Patton.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are so loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measures.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2025 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m., in the funeral home. A committal service will be held following the funeral services in Climax Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions payable to the American Cancer Society.
