Doris I. Flageolle (Mountain Grove)'s Obituary
Doris Irene Flageolle, daughter of William Ernest and Daisy Darlene Gruber, was born September 28, 1936, in Jefferson County, Colorado. She departed this life Thursday, February 15, 2018, in her daughter’s home, in Rogersville, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, four months, and seventeen days.
On November 17, 1952, she was united in marriage to Ralph S. Flageolle, and to this union six daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, on November 22, 2006; a daughter, Joy Flageolle; two sons-in-law, Bob Dibben, and Rick Forrest; three grandchildren, Little Ricky Forrest, Michael Flageolle, and Jennifer Alexander; two great-grandchildren, Macy Loveless, and Dakota Morgan; and two sisters.
Doris is survived by her children, Lois Putt, and her husband, Ron, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Janice Dibben, of Rogersville, Missouri, Regina Taylor, and her husband, Dan, of Arcola, Illinois, June Forrest, of Norwood, Missouri, Stan Flageolle, and his wife, Barb, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Kim Homer, and her husband, David, of Theodosia, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren, Joseph Yarber, and his wife, Susan, Wayco Yarber, and his wife, Holly, Carrie Guilliams, and her husband, Jaime, April Hansen, and her husband, Jeff, Ryan Sloan, Travis Dibben, Tyler Dibben, and his wife, Ashley, Belinda Morgan, Amy Jones, and her husband, Kyle, Miranda Hooker, and her husband, John, Shane Forrest, and his wife, Sarah, Christina Shannon, and her husband, Matt, Luke Flageolle, and his wife, Micah, Jake Flageolle, and his wife, Stephanie, Davy Homer, and his wife, Marlena, Rachel Amos, and her husband, Jason, Dustin Homer, and Shelby Homer; thirty-five great-grandchildren (and three more on the way); two brothers, David Wells, and Danny Brady; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Rick Flageolle, and his wife, Emily; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. After she and Ralph were married, they made their home in Denver until moving the family to Mountain Grove, Missouri, in 1966. Doris was devoted to the Lord. Her husband and children were her vocation. She lovingly cared for and nurtured her family instilling faith, Christian values and integrity. Throughout her life, numerous family and friends were welcomed to their home and cared for as part of the family.
Doris joined the Catholic Church when she and Ralph married. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she had been involved in the Women’s Auxiliary.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and doing ceramics. She also liked working in her garden and growing beautiful flowers. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-one years.
