Doris "Nadine" Garrison (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Doris “Nadine” Garrison (Jones) 90 of Buffalo, Missouri passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023, while watching TV with her son, Dawayne Len Garrison.
Nadine was born on March 23, 1933, to John and Clarissa “Clara” Jones in Windyville, Missouri. She attended Windyville School.
During her life, Nadine was employed at Garrett’s Café, Opal Martin’s Rest Home, Fulton State Hospital, and St. Joseph State Hospital.
In 1949, Nadine married Donald K. Garrison, to this union four children were born, Don “Kent”, Doris Lee, Dawayne Len, and Carmen. She was a devoted mom and grandma, who put her family first, especially enjoying her grandchildren.
Nadine had many interests during her lifetime. Unable to continue her formal education, she was a life-long reader. Nadine enjoyed her gardening, particularly her beautiful flowers. Nadine took great pride in collecting antiques and old money which she often found at garage sales. She delighted in traveling with Louis Keith, her long-time companion. They traveled to Mexico, Germany, Hawaii, Florida, Texas, and took many day trips in Missouri. They especially loved Bennett Springs. She was always busy crocheting rag rugs while watching soap operas. She loved her dog Penny, as well as admiring peacocks, hummingbirds, and greyhound dogs.
Nadine as preceded in death by her parents, John and Clarissa “Clara” Jones; siblings, Pansy Varner, Wayne Jones, and Dorothy Cline; one son, Kent Garrison; two sons-in-law, Duane M. Cochran, Jr. and Robert E. Riddell Sr.; daughter-in-law, Eva Arzola; two nephews, Ron Varner and Jon Jones; one niece, Sue Alexander; and two dear friends, Bessie Johnson and Louise Cornett.
She is survived by her three children, Doris Garrison, Dawayne Len Garrison, and Carmen (Garrison) Cochran-Krissinger (Larry); 10 grandchildren, Misty (Summers) Joseph, Joshua Summers, Michael Cochran, Scott Cochran, Leah (Cochran) Parsons, Phillip Krissinger, Victoria (Riddell) Ramirez, Jonathan Cantú, John Louis Garrison, and Don Kent Garrison; 17 great-grandchildren, Ricky Cochran, Cody Cochran, Megan Cochran, Alyssa Cochran, Jacob Cochran, Aubree Krissinger, David Parsons, Eleanor Garrison, Gatlin Garrison, Olivia Garrison, Miranda Stuart, Emma Nadine Stuart, Alan “Christopher” Ramirez, Martina Joseph, Loretta Joseph, Hank Joseph, and George Joseph, three great-great-grandchildren, Bryar Fern Cochran, Baylee Carmen Griffith, and Everleigh Mae Joseph. As well as numerous extended family and friends.
She left us with beautiful memories which we will cherish forever.
Funeral services is will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo. Visitation will be held the hour prior beginning at 1:00 p.m. Nadine will be laid to rest at Scrivner Cemetery, near Windyville, MO.
