Doris Lucille Jones (Hartville)'s Obituary
Doris Lucille Jones, daughter of Charley and Leoan Tinsley, was born November 7, 1928. She was taken into the Lord’s care late Tuesday evening, November 20, 2018, at the age of ninety years and fourteen days.
Lucille lived her first twenty-one years in the Rock Store vicinity in Hartville, Missouri. At the age of sixteen years old, she graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She started teaching at Durbin School when she was sixteen years old. In her thirty-three years of teaching, she taught at Durbin, Mt. Olive, Cope, Evening shade, Lawson, Crawford, Grovespring, Mansfield, and finished her teaching career in Hartville. During those years, she felt many of those students were her children.
She attended Green Valley Church most of her growing up years. She accepted Christ as her savior at a Coon Creek Church Revival. She has been a member at High Street Baptist Church for many years and was baptized there. She was a Godly woman who took pride in her faith.
After retiring from teaching, she continued to live a wonderful life. She sold the farm in Grovespring after her husband passed away and spent the rest of her life in Springfield, Missouri. Although she spent most of her time with her grandchildren, she also found many activities she enjoyed. She created a stock market group, tutored teens, and taught adults to read. She liked to visit with the elderly as much as she could. She traveled to multiple states with her friend Jeanie and even took her grandchildren to Oregon.
Lucille Married Fred Jones on February 18, 1950 and spent many happy years together in Grovespring, Missouri until his passing. They had three children who brought them much happiness and love. She lived for her family and loved them with all her heart. She traveled many miles just to see her grandchildren paly sports. Her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren were so special to her. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, especially Jeanie and Bonnie.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Leoan Tinsley; her loving husband, Fred Jones; a sister, Harlene Stanfill; and a son, Keith Jones.
Lucille is survived by a son, Gary Jones and his wife Lois, of Kimberling City, Missouri; a daughter, Lynette Arnall and her husband Rich, of Hartville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Kristy, of Carl Junction, Missouri, Machelle Jones of Springfield, Missouri, Nicole Jones of Springfield, Missouri, and Brett Ellis of Montreal, Canada; three great-grandchildren, Taylar Waite, Coltin, and Makayla Smith; two great-great-grandchildren, Aydn Davis, and Averee Smith.
She had the gift to make anyone feel special, important, and loved. She had a contagious laugh and so much love that she gave to everyone she knew. She was loved by many and will be truly missed by family and friends.
Memorials can be made to the Green Valley Cemetery.
