Doris June Piercy (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Doris June Reid Piercy of Lebanon, Missouri left this earth to see her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 27, 2023. At the time of her passing, she was eighty-three years and eight months old.
Doris was born to Johnny and Sylvia Reid on August 27, 1939 near Brownfield, Missouri. She attended Crossroads School. She met Anderson “Andy” Cleveland Piercy at a church revival and they were married April 1, 1956 and were blessed with two children. They celebrated the happy times and stood firm in their faith and to each other during the challenging times of their marriage that spanned over sixty-one years. Andy passed away December 26, 2017.
Doris lived her whole life in Lebanon and Laclede County. She attended Crossroads School and was a long time member of Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church. God blessed her with a beautiful voice and she used her talent for His glory, as she sang with the Gospel Echo’s for many years. The group sang in countless churches and for events, as well as funerals.
She was active in every ministry of the church, from Sunday School teacher, working church camps and being involved in church music. She loved God, her family, and her church family very much.
Doris liked to can fruits and vegetables out of her huge garden she planted every year. She loved doing puzzles and playing games with her children and grandchildren.
She also took pride in raising her children and taking care of her house. She was a dedicated wife and mother and was excited when she became a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. She especially loved her grandchildren and attending events they were involved in.
In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Nelson.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Beverly Eilenstein, and her husband, Jan, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Jerry Piercy and his wife, Natalie, of Lebanon, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Michelle Peters, and her husband, David, Jeremy Piercy, Shon Eilenstein, and his wife, Pascha, Jennifer Myers, and her husband, Jeremy, Melanie Thompson, and her husband, Matt, Janessa Blankenship and her husband, Dillon, Joni Williams, and her husband, Joe, Jered Piercy and his wife, Alli, and Jonathon Piercy, Nitely and Aiven; thirty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward Reid of Lebanon, Missouri; five sisters, Helen Cornelison, Ina Piercy, Della Piercy and her husband, Bill, Joyce Owens and her husband, Ed and Karen Simmons and her husband, Joe; many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
Doris lived a life that magnified Christ and her walk with Him. She left a legacy to be treasured by her family and friends.
A memorial has been established to Whitson Cemetery and donations may be made through the funeral home.
