Doris Pike (Urbana)'s Obituary
Doris Pike, 82, of Flemington passed away December 9, 2018 in her home following a long illness.
Doris was born to Carl & Wilhelmina (Struebe) Dureck on September 26, 1936 in Sandusky, Ohio. In 1961 she married the love of her life; Noel Pike and they were true partners throughout their 57 years of marriage.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Wilhelmina, brother Carl Dureck & his wife, Beryl. She is survived by her loving husband, Noel, her sister Helen Wuertz of Sandusky, Ohio. She leaves behind her six children and their spouses and partners: Katherine Johnson & Michael Walker, Springfield; Heather & Chris Stidham, Urbana; Max & Marti Pike, Springfield; Cheryl Pike & Duane Pritchard, Bristow, Oklahoma; Phillip & Karen Pike, Murrieta, California; and Mark & Barbara Pike, Cedar Bluff, Alabama. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews who will all truly miss her.
Doris was raised in the Lutheran faith in Sandusky, Ohio. She believed in her Lord & Savior and was always grateful for what the Lord had blessed her with.
Doris was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a person of incredible caring, integrity, and honesty. She loved unconditionally and always looked for the best in everyone.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Urbana. Escorts will be Devon Stidham, Doug Stidham, Adam Mason, Calen Pike, Matthew Pike, and Dylan Heflin. Interment will be in the Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Urbana. Visitation will be from 10:30-12:30 Saturday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Urbana First Baptist Church Building Fund. Condolences and online register book entries may be left at www.cantlonotterness.com.
