Doris M. Sherrer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Doris Mae Sherrer, daughter of James B. and Mary Mae Presley Nutter, was born March 23, 1939, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, October 2, 2017, in her home, in Eldon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, six months, and nine days.
On August 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to Lewis Adrian Sherrer, and to this union three daughters and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis, on April 25, 1994; a daughter, Connie Christine Hamby; a son, Smokey Sherrer; and a grandson, Danny Atwell.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Diane Atwell, of Eldon, Missouri, and Sue Ellen Stradt, and her husband, Brad, of Stoutland, Missouri; two sons, Jimmie Sherrer, and his wife, Maxine, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Daniel Sherrer, and his wife, Kristine, of Waynesville, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; a multitude of great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Nutter, and his wife, Wilma, and Don Nutter, and his wife, Gerry, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. After she and Adrian were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
She was a loving and caring lady who always made time to visit with family and friends. She had a knack of making chores fun, and enjoyed having tea parties with her grandchildren. She had a beautiful smile and a bit of a stubborn streak, which she shared with her children. She also enjoyed raising coon dogs. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime
