Doris Smalley (Hartville)'s Obituary
Doris Irene Smalley, daughter of Wayne and Leona Moody Todd, was born August 17, 1932 in Whitewater, Kansas. She departed this life June 21, 2015 in the Hartville Care Center, at the age of eighty-two years, ten months, and four days.
On September 29, 1961, Doris was united in marriage to Martin Joseph Smalley and together they shared thirty-six years until his passing on February 19, 1997.
Her parents; her children, Connie Hanrahan, Jackie Custer, and Marsha Turner; and her siblings, Louise Williams, Arlene Todd, Charles Todd, and Larry Todd also preceded Doris in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Worsham of Hartville, Missouri; two grandchildren who were like children to her, Cathy Dugger and Joe Smalley and wife Lori; numerous other
grandchildren, and great grandchildren; her siblings, Darlene Sullivan of Gainesville,
Missouri, Richard Todd of Kansas City, Kansas, and Kathy Ortego of the state of Texas; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Doris was born in Kansas and moved to Hartville with her family over fifty years ago. She loved quilting and drawing. She won several awards for her quilts and shared pictures of them wit
h anyone she met.
Doris spent her latter years in the Hartville Care Center and enjoyed her life there. She had made many friends with residents and workers there. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Hartville Care Center and Preferred Hospice for the care she received
while in their care.
Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many
wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
