Doris Tingle's Obituary
Doris Quinevere Tingle, daughter of Ed and Nora E. Massey Everett, was born March 14, 1918, near Orla, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety years, two months, and nineteen days. Early in her life, she was united in marriage to George W. Farrington, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. Mr. Farrington preceded her in death in 1956. On September 10, 1961, she was united in marriage to William J. “Bill” Tingle, and together they shared the last forty-six years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dolores Conoboy; and an infant son, Edward Farrington. Doris is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; a son, Donald Farrington, and his wife, Charlotte, of Iuka, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Lynnetta Payton, and her husband, Orville, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Donna Lynn Bartels, and her husband, Steve, of Lawson, Missouri; a grandson, John Farrington, and his wife, Barbara, of Wichita, Kansas; four great-grandchildren, Chris Norris, Jake, Randi, and Josh Farrrington; a great-great-grandchild, Adriane; a son-in-law, John Conoboy, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in the Orla, Missouri community and then made her home in Lebanon. After she and Bill were married, they made their home in various locations as Bill was serving in the military. They were able to travel extensively throughout Europe especially in Germany, Italy, Austria, and Holland. In 1996, Bill retired from the military and the family moved to St. Charles, Missouri, while Bill worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. In 1994, Doris and Bill moved to Lebanon and made their home. Doris was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lebanon, where she enjoyed her church fellowship. She enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds and was very skilled at doll making. She also liked spending time with her family and particularly her grandchildren. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the White Oak Pond Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
