Dorothy F. Bean (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dorothy Faye Bean, 67, of Bolivar, died suddenly on Saturday, September 6, 2014. She was born in Tulare, CA, on February 21, 1947 to Charles and Weasie (Jump) Choate, the 4th of 9 children.
Dorothy was a long time resident of Bolivar. She worked for almost 30 years as a restorative care aide at Citizens Memorial Hospital Care Facility. When she retired from working, her main loves in life were her family and friends. Over the years she has babysat and fell in love with many children. Those kids and grandkids were just as special as her own. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, and of course, bingo. She had many fun Saturday nights playing bingo with her sister, Barbara, in Springfield.
Dorothy leave behind three children, Shelia Choate Hampshire, of Sedalia, Thomas Thrasher, of Bolivar, and Weasie Stalker, and husband Robert, of Bolivar; 11 grandchildren, Brionna Thrasher, Ashley Hunt, Jacob Thrasher, Dakota Hampshire, Jarod Hampshire, Sarah Isabella Hampshire, Emily Bean, Alexis Stalker, Nick Stalker, Ben Stalker, and Anthony Stalker; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ruth Prince, Barbara Hartley, and Pearl Scrivener, and husband Paul; 3 brothers, David Choate and wife Mary, Lee Choate and wife Chris, and Wayne Choate and wife Roberta; plus a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
