Dorothy Beyer's Obituary
Dorothy Roberta Beyer, daughter of George and Dorothy Reutter McCleary, was born November 30, 1936, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She departed this life Tuesday, January 10, 2006, in her home, near Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, one month, and ten days. On June 29, 1957, in Trappe, Pennsylvania, she was united in marriage to Wesley Landes Beyer, and to this union three daughters and three sons were born. Her parents, and a brother, Robert McCleary, preceded her in death. “Dottie”, as she was affectionately called, is survived by her loving husband of forty-eight years, Wesley; her children, Cheryl Lynn Dockray, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Mark Wesley Beyer, and his wife, Natalie Joy, of Franklin, Tennessee, Dale Christian Beyer, and his wife, Anita, of Warsaw, Missouri, Natalie Renee Kauffman, and her husband, Elden, of Gunn City, Missouri, Linda Grace Warford, and her husband, Lee, of Pattonsburg, Missouri, and Christopher Joel Beyer, and his wife, Jennifer, of Joplin, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Grace Shah, of Princeton, New Jersey; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in Trappe, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School in the Class of 1954. After she and Wesley were married, they made their home in Pennsylvania and lovingly began raising their family. In 1962, the family moved to Elkhead, Missouri, and then to Camdenton, Missouri in 1973. It was a lifelong dream of Dottie’s to become a nurse, so after her youngest child was in school, she entered St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri, and earned her Registered Nursing Degree in 1979. While continuing to be a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Dottie worked at the Lake Ozark General Hospital, now Lake Regional Health Systems, from 1979 until retiring in 1999. Dottie was a member of the Camdenton United Methodist Church. Her faith and family were her top priorities. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother and most of her time and energies were spent in these areas. She enjoyed traveling to see her family as well as hosting “The Gang” in her home. Her hobbies included cooking, reading, Cardinal baseball and doing jigsaw puzzles. Dottie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2006, at the Camdenton United Methodist Church. Visitation will follow the service. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
