Dorothy Couch (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dorothy Jean Couch, daughter of Jesse and Mattie Richardson Poynter, was born May 4, 1923, in Laclede County, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, April 19, 2013, in Ozark Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, eleven months, and fifteen days.
On January 8, 1944, she was united in marriage to Cecil Sherwood Couch, and they shared sixty-two years before his passing on August 27, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patty Pope; two brothers, Leland and Neil Poynter; and two sisters, Alma Deckard and Trena Hurt.
Dorothy is survived by a sister, Janice Gross, and her husband, Larry, of Camdenton, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. After she and Cecil were married, they made their home in the Dallas, Texas area. Throughout the years, Dorothy was a devoted homemaker to her husband.
Dorothy had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith.
In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, shopping, and watching television. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a loving sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
