Dorothy M Eidson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dorothy Mae Eidson, daughter of Raymond C. and Bertha M. Shumate Brown, was born February 22, 1941, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, June 22, 2015, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years and four months.
On July 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Paul F. Eidson, and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, on January 5, 1989; three brothers, Cecil, Johnnie, and Junior Brown; and two sisters, Margaret Gibbs, and Betty Hufft.
Dorothy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Linda Eidson, and Mike and Diane Eidson, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a granddaughter, Jenna Eidson, of Lebanon, Missouri; five step-grandchildren, Kelli Hodges, Shonna Wall, Amber Uder, Jack and Johnnie Jones; nine step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lee Brown, and his wife, Etta, Bobby Joe Brown, and Bud Brown, and his wife, Nylene, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Florine Vaughn, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Geneva Brown, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; her partner, Jimmie “Burg” Burgess, and his loving family, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area and attended Lebanon R-III Schools. After she and Paul were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their sons. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Dorothy worked as a seamstress for the H. D. Lee Company for twenty-six years. She then began working as a bus driver for the Lebanon R-III Schools and drove for twenty-five years.
Dorothy was saved on October 21, 1962, and followed the Baptist faith throughout her life.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing dominos, country dancing, and fishing. She liked taking care of her lawn and visiting with her friends. Her family was the center of her life, and she was always there when anyone needed help. She especially enjoyed having special time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-four years.
Memorial donations may be made to Lebanon Mercy Hospice, and left at the funeral home.
