Dorothy Sue Gentzler (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dorothy Sue Gentzler, daughter of Charley and Dorothy Fraham Biggs, was born May 20, 1950, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, July 9, 2017, in North Care Hospice House, in North Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, one month, and nineteen days.
In 1985, Dorothy met her future husband, Troy Gentzler, and they spent many years together before uniting in marriage in 2001. Troy passed away on April 25, 2009.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Dale and Darrell Biggs.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Russell Light, and his wife, Maria, of St. Joseph, Missouri; three daughters, Leslie Hallick, and her husband, Tommy, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jennifer Grossman, and her husband, Jay, of Gladstone, Missouri, and Tamara Gentzler, and her fiancé, Brandon, of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, John Norman, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Janie Howe, of Kansas City, Missouri, Pat Hough, of Clearwater, Florida, Nancy Thompson, of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Edith Rogers, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; her former husband, Wayne Light, of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she lovingly raised her family. Throughout the years, she was always a devoted homemaker to her family. She centered her life around her children and enjoyed following the activities of her grandchildren.
She liked watching Lucille Ball programs and John Wayne movies. She also loved watching Walker Texas Ranger on television. She possessed a witty personality and loved to laugh. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with all of her loved ones.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
