Dorothy L. Lockwood (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dorothy Louise Lockwood, daughter of Charles Lacey and Velma Lansden Agan, was born November 23, 1926, in Elsie, Nebraska. She departed this life Thursday, February 11, 2021, in Glendale Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-four years, two months, and nineteen days.
On August 14, 1943, she was united in marriage to James Dale Lockwood, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on March 1, 2011; and a daughter, Beverly Jean Baker, in 2014.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Becky Duckworth, of Rolla, Missouri; two sons, Mike Lockwood, and his wife, Debbie, of Springfield, Missouri, and Jim Lockwood, and his wife, Elvie, of Marshfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Carey Brown, of Marionville, Missouri, Kelly Wallis, of Rolla Missouri, Cathy Cruise, of Rolla, Missouri, Melissa Borsella, of Shawnee, Kansas, Matt Lockwood, of Elkland, Missouri, and Brooks Lockwood, of New York City, New York; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Duckworth, Jacob Coble, Mason Cruise, Emma Borsella, and Trevor Wallis; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Nebraska where she lived until age five. Her family moved to Lebanon, Missouri in 1931 where she lived most of her life. After she and Dale were married, in Lebanon, they lived in Kansas City during the war years, in Springfield after the war for a couple of years, and eventually moved back and settled in Lebanon where they raised their four children. Through the years, Dorothy was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A private burial will take place at Mount Rose Memorial Park and a public service will be announced at a later date.
