Dorothy F. Montgomery (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dorothy Faye Montgomery, daughter of Oliver and Delia Mabel Coogan Crismon, was born June 5, 1933, in Plato, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, five months, and nine days.
On August 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lee Montgomery and they shared years of happiness and memories before he passed away in 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold E.; and three sisters, Mabel, Irene, and Minnie Ann.
Dorothy is survived by her brother-in-law, Jack Montgomery; a number of nieces and nephews, including Craig Montgomery, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Chad Montgomery, and his wife, Cathy Todaro-Montgomery, of Kansas City, Missouri; several great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Plato community and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1951. After she and Bob were married, they first made their home living upstairs of Holman Funeral Home where Bob had been working and living. They eventually moved into their own home and Dorothy began working as a receptionist for Dr. Ferrell Johnson where she continued to be employed for many years. She was also a devoted homemaker to her husband through the years.
Dorothy had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
She enjoyed traveling, doing counted cross stitch and loved learning about Lebanon history. She was a faithful caregiver to her family and enjoyed spending time with members of her family whenever possible.
Dorothy was a loving aunt, great-aunt, and caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
