She was born near Grovespring, Missouri, and then moved with her family to Illinois. When Dottie was four years old, the family returned to Missouri, and made their home near Lebanon. Dottie helped raise her brothers and sisters, and stayed on the family homestead for forty years. She and Ruth did the cooking and cleaning and took care of their brothers. About three years ago, Dottie moved to Marshfield, Missouri.
Dottie had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church near Northview, Missouri for over fifty years.
Her church and her family were always foremost in her life and she greatly loved attending church services. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and also enjoyed collecting antique and costume jewelry. She was a wonderful cook and liked making special recipes for her family.
Dottie was a loving sister and aunt, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
