Dorothy Rector's Obituary
Dorothy Lee Rector, daughter of Amos and Maude Walters Rector, was born August 21, 1921, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life November 23, 2007 in St. John’s Hospital-Lebanon at the age of eighty-six years, three months, and two days. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sophie Weddle, and two brothers, Paul and Homer Rector. Dorothy is survived by a brother, Robert Rector and his wife, Thomasene, of Lebanon, Missouri, a sister, Gertie Tooley, of Kansas City, Missouri, several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Lebanon area and was a graduate of the Lebanon High School Class of 1941. Dorothy had made her profession of faith early in her life and was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She had worked at the Justice Furniture Company and had been a loyal employee for thirty years. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and embroidering, and took great pride in her home. Dorothy had a very close relationship with her family and loved to spend time with them. Dorothy was a loving sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
