Dorothy M. Starcev (Seymour)'s Obituary
Dorothy Marie Starcev, beloved mother and grandmother, departed this earthly life the morning of Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Glenwood Health Care in Seymour, Missouri, where she had been an adored resident for the last fourteen years. Dorothy was ninety-one years, eleven months, and twelve days young.
One of twelve children, she was born Dorothy Marie Welch on December 13, 1926, to William Estres and Virgie Mae (Lane) Welch in Chappell Hill, Texas. She was raised and spent most of her years in Texas, moving later to Louisiana, and finally Seymour in 2004, to be closer to family and watch her grandchildren grow. Dorothy was the last of her siblings to pass away.
Dorothy was a very dedicated and fun-loving mother and homemaker. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy; she was happiest when the kids were out of school for the summer and they could play all day.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Armstrong, second husband, Vasiljie ‘Stash’ Starcev; a great-grandson; and her siblings, William, Dick, Faye, Trudy, Travis, Johnnie, Waynez, Agnes, Jimmy, Earlene, and Charles.
Dorothy leaves behind a huge family that loved her dearly; her five children, Linda and Jerry Miller of Seymour, Nettie and Joe Howell of the state of Georgia, Robert Armstrong of Overton, Texas, Peggy Moore of Henderson, Texas, and William Armstrong, also of Overton; fourteen grandchildren, Cindy Miller, Teresa and Lance Hetmer, Brenda and Bill Dunham, Jeff and Christie Miller, Tina and Salvador Fonseca, Robert Jardine, Nick and Tonya Jardine, Wayne Wallace, Tiffany and Harold Richardson, Leona and Tom Tripp, David Dorsey and fiancé Charlotte Hewitt, Brian and Teresa Dorsey, Ashleigh and Justin Owens, and Cierra and Peyton Crawford; twenty-two great-grandchildren, and twenty-one great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her Glenwood Family.
Dorothy’s ninety-one years of love and happiness she showered on her family and friends have created many, many warm memories that will be treasured in their hearts forever. Dorothy will be lovingly missed by all who knew and loved her.
