Dottie Kimball's Obituary
Dorothy Edwina Kimball, daughter of James William and Winifred June Lawrence Gaddis, was born September 8, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, February 15, 2010, in her home near Seymour, at the age of sixty five years, five months, and seven days. On November 9, 1961, Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard Leroy Kimball and to this union four children were born. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, an infant son, Michael William Kimball; and one grandson, Justin Scott Davenport. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of the home; a son, Gene Kimball, and his wife, Jill, of Seymour, Missouri; two daughters, Michelle Burks, and her husband, Travis, and Melissia Kanel, and her husband, Erick, all of Seymour, Missouri; six grandchildren, Randy Kimball, and his wife, April, Brian Kimball, and his wife, Taylor , Cody Burks, Jessica Burks, Andrew Kanel, and Samantha Kanel; five great-grandchildren, Jo Kimball, Hannah Kissinger, Garrett Kimball, Sarah Kimball, and Trinity Kimball; her mother, Winifred Gaddis, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two brothers, Larry Gaddis, and his wife, Judy, of Morrisville, Missouri, Gene Gaddis, and his wife, Linda, of Wentzville, Missouri; two sisters, Theresa Liniger, and her husband, Fred, of Ozark, Missouri, and Sue Ann Sandine, and her husband, Jim, of Wright City, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Dorothy was born in Kansas City and spent her early years near Mountain Grove in the Dawson Community. She and Richard moved to Seymour in 1969 where they owned and operated a dairy farm. She had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of the Seymour Church of Christ. She was a devoted homemaker and in her spare time she enjoyed quilting, baking special occasion cakes, and cooking for her family. She was known for her specialty cakes and her large collection of many different cake pans. Dorothy especially cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the precious memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday February 18, 2010 at the Seymour Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday evening 6:30-7:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
