Dotty Jean Lindsay (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dotty Jean Lindsay, daughter of James Argus and Ruth Pearl White Emmerson, was born September 7, 1928, near Hartville, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, August 10, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eleven months, and three days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two infant twin brothers, Bobby and Billy Emmerson.
Dotty is survived by three daughters, Vickie Bogan, and her husband, Ron, of Springfield, Missouri, Linda Gunter, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Judy Eisenhauer, and her husband, Todd, of Wentzville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Amy, Adam, Andrea, Paige, and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Lindsay, and Carly, and one eagerly anticipated; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Competition, Missouri community, and graduated from Competition High School. She then taught school for a few years. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, Dotty worked as a checker at Consumer’s Market in Lebanon for many years. She later worked as a teller and bookkeeper for Commerce Bank in Lebanon, and retired after more than twenty-five years of service.
Dotty had professed her faith in Christ and was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She was an active member of Hayes Street Church of Christ in Lebanon.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers and plants. She was very self sufficient, took good care of herself, and was always happy and upbeat no matter the circumstances. She had a love for animals and was especially fond of her favorite dog, “Gracie”. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dotty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
Memorial donations to the Claxton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund may be made through the funeral home.
