Douglas Edward Moyer (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Douglas Edward Moyer, son of Edward Moyer and the late Ruby Fern (Compton) Moyer, was born on May 20, 1966 in Fayette, Missouri, and departed this life on May 26, 2019 at his home near Buffalo, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was 53 years and 5 days of age.
Douglas was reared and attended school in Fayette and Buffalo, Missouri and graduated from Buffalo High School. He went to school to be a diesel mechanic and worked for Friendly Ford for 14 years before moving to Don Vance Auto Group in Marshfield where he worked for 15 years. He loved spending time with his girls and his grandson. He also loved his critters, and his ducks who he named Larry, Curly, and Moe. He enjoyed camping, boating, skiing, riding his motorcycle, and working on his trucks. Douglas had a very quiet but funny sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.
Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Fern Moyer. He is survived by his daughters, Courtney Moyer of Buffalo, MO, Julie Moyer of Lebanon, MO, Marissa Moyer of Buffalo, MO, and Clarissa Moyer of Buffalo, MO; one brother, Louis & wife Laura Moyer of Ottumwa, IA; one sister, Donna & husband Carl Mitchell of Stoutland, MO; and one grandson, Gideon Pettibone of Lebanon, MO. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Case officiating. Escorts will be Keith Stephenson, Marty Ratliff, Curtis Williams, Michael Lewis, Mike Cross, Keith Maddux, David Burns, and Brandon George. Interment will be in the Mitchell-Moyer Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
