Doyle E. Caffey (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Doyle E. Caffey, son of William Earl “Dutch” and Ruby Moore Caffey, was born October 28, 1938, in Caffeyville, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at 4:56 p.m. in Lake Regional Hospital, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, two months, and twenty-five days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ralph, Ferrell Dean, and Leroy; and a sister, Edith Fern.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of the home; three daughters, Debra Carlisle, Darla Nix, and her husband, Jerry, all of Springfield, Missouri, and Brenda Nutt, and her husband, Thomas, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Darren Caffey, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Caffey, of Conway, Missouri, and Lavern Caffey, of Conway, Missouri; four sisters, Bonnie Hendrix, of Republic, Missouri, Ruth Ann Daniels, Shirley Ivey, both of Lebanon, Missouri, and Virginia Shell, of Marshfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Caffeyville community and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. Doyle married Annetta Marie Schultz on December 5, 1959, and then traveled to Kentucky as a lineman for a short time. They then returned to Conway, Missouri and had three daughters. Doyle worked for a nearby casket company, then Marshfield Steel Plant, and later began working as a driver for MFA Feed Store. He also was a volunteer fireman for the Conway Fire Department.
On November 14, 1974, he was united in marriage to Bonnie L. Deadmond. Doyle continued working at MFA part time and started working full time for the special road district called Hayden Road Maintenance. He and Bonnie later moved to Bennett Spring where he and Bonnie welcomed a son into the family. While there, he worked for the State of Missouri in the maintenance department for ten years before he was injured and retired.
Doyle and Bonnie moved to Lebanon, Missouri, where he enjoyed spending time visiting with his family and neighbors and he would babysit his grandchildren every chance he had.
He grew up hunting and fishing with his family and loved his rose bushes. He liked to plant small gardens of fresh vegetables and tinker around small engine repair.
Doyle was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a helpful neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories he created for them during his lifetime.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
