Doyle Gilbert Watson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Doyle Gilbert Watson, son of Leon Roy and Geneva Stephens Watson, was born April 11, 1958, in Ocala, Florida. He departed this life Sunday, January 20, 2019, in the Select Specialty Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, nine months, and nine days.
On July 22, 1994, he was united in marriage to Cherryl Lynn Hogan, and they shared the last twenty-four years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joseph Leon Watson.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Cherryl, of the home; a son, Scott Watson, and Kaitlyn Logan, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Mandy Watson, and her fiancé, Christopher Devolld, of Branson, Missouri; a grandson, Luke Watson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Roy Watson, and his wife, Jayna, of Spearfish, South Dakota; five sisters, Gwendolyn Moore, and her husband, Dean, of Grovespring, Missouri, Sandra Koch, and her husband, Russ, of Homosassa, Florida, Nancy Gonzalez, and her husband, David, of Dixon, Missouri, Elaine Donahoo, and her husband, Tim, of Warsaw, Missouri, and Arlene Carney, and her husband, Daniel, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; an aunt, Gladys LaDuke; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was raised in Citrus County, Florida and graduated from Crystal River High School. He continued to make his home in the Crystal River area and worked as a mechanic and truck driver for several years. He then worked at the Fire Prevention Office and was an EMT and First Responder. He had also worked for Brinks Security for a time and then owned the Mobile Tech Company. After retiring, he and Cherryl moved to Lebanon, Missouri seven years ago.
Doyle was raised in a Pentecostal church and followed that faith throughout the years.
He liked doing volunteer work with the Salvation Army. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and camping. He also liked playing poker, and watching football and NASCAR on television. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed being a grandfather.
Doyle was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
