Druscilla Cones (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Druscilla Gayle Cones, daughter of Lee Roy and Violet Roberta English Harrell, was born October 7, 1947, near Plad, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, two months, and ten days.
On June 6, 1969, she was united in marriage to Carl Eugene Cones, Sr., and they shared forty-one years before his passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl, on February 11, 2011; four brothers, Herbert, Kenneth, Loren, and Devon Harrell; and two sisters, Daisy Baker, and Ruby Fennegan.
Druscilla is survived by two sons, Carl Cones, Jr., and his wife, Julie, and Bill Cones, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Vera Hodges, and her husband, J. R., of Bates City, Missouri, Lynn Cones, and Angela Rushing, and her husband, Ryan, all of Lebanon, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Harrell and Bob Harrell, both of Lebanon, Missouri; seven sisters, Kathy Turney, of Richmond, Missouri, Brenda Edson, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Marilyn Moore, Patricia Hough, Wanda Sherrer, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Thelma Hays, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Lorena White, of Lexington, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Kenneth Jackson, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Plad community, and then moved with her family to Kansas City, Missouri, where she graduated from West Port High School. After she and Carl were married, they made their home in the Fresno and Firebaugh, California area, in the San Joaquin Valley. Through the years, Druscilla was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and a loving mother to her children. In 1990, the family moved back to Missouri, and made their home near Lebanon.
Druscilla made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of West Side Church of God in Lebanon for many years.
She was an excellent baker and cook, and had won several ribbons for some of her special items at the Laclede County Fair. She loved music and enjoyed singing. She liked riding four-wheelers and going to the river. She possessed a bubbly, happy personality and was always kind to everyone. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Druscilla was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
