Dwayne Ear Nichols La-Porte's Obituary
Dwayne Earl LaPorte, son of George Earl LaPorte and Betty Meachum Nichols LaPorte Best, was born August 30, 1956, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life December 14, 2007, in Tempe, Arizona, at the age of fifty-one years, three months, and fourteen days. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Otis Nichols, and a sister, Kelley Smith. Dwayne is survived by his daughter, Nicole LaPorte, of Phoenix, Arizona, one son, Dwayne E. LaPorte, II, of Chandler, Arizona; one grandson, Deshawn LaPorte, of Chandler, Arizona; his mother, Betty Best, of Lebanon, Missouri; one brother, Otis Nichols, of Lebanon, Missouri; and two sisters, Twanya Nichols, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Rita Lewis, of Orlando, Florida; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of friends. He was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri and was a graduate of the Lebanon High School Class of 1975. He then attended Southwest Missouri State University. He joined the United States Air Force serving in Panama and Granada. After moving to Arizona, he was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a fuel specialist for several years and later became a Real Estate agent. Dwayne followed the Methodist faith. He had a wonderful sense of humor and had many interests including cooking, running, and was very gifted in computer skills. Dwayne was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and was a wonderful friend to all who knew him. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will cherish the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
