E. Janieve Parson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Edith Janieve Parson, daughter of Frank M. and Annie U. Breckenridge Staples, was born October 22, 1923, in Hillman, Arkansas. She departed this life Thursday, May 23, 2019, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-five years, seven months, and one day.
On May 18, 1942, she was united in marriage to Jasper Clair Parson, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jasper, on May 12, 2011; a granddaughter, Jani Alley; and two brothers, Eldon Marriott, and Denovan Staples.
Janieve is survived by a daughter, Joyce Parson, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Tim Parson, and his wife, Glendolyn, of Stoutland, Missouri, and Tom and his wife, Carol Parson, of Laporte, Indiana; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Glendola Kistler, and her husband, Arthur, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Crystal Marriott, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Janice Campbell, of Warsaw, Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Arkansas and was raised in Arkansas, California and Indiana. She had worked picking fruit and cutting timber during the Depression. After she and Jasper were married, they made their home in Michigan and then moved to Edwardsburg, Michigan for several years where they lovingly raised their children. In 1974, they purchased a farm in Squires, Missouri and then moved to Sleeper, Missouri in 2003. Through the years, Janieve was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She had also taken care of some of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews when they were children.
She was always happy, had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to tease and be teased. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Janieve was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-five years.
