Earl Flint (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Earl P. Flint, age 96, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away in his home on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 7:45am following an extended illness.
Earl was born in Cliquot, Missouri in Polk County and was a lifelong resident of the Bolivar and Polk County areas. He was a graduate of Bolivar High School of 1933. He was an Army Veteran of World War II obtaining the rank of T-5 in the Army Air Field Artillery. He retired in 1982 as a Line Foreman with Southwest Electric Coop of Bolivar after 36 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bolivar.
Earl Flint and Ava Lee Jones were united in marriage on August 28, 1946. To this union 3 daughters were born. Together they were privileged to share over 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents William T. and Mary Christina (Hahn) Flint; a brother, Charles Flint; and 2 sisters, Hazel Poindexter and Ruby Troyer; and a niece Hazel Belle Kimpson.
He is survived by his loving family; wife Ava Lee of the home, 3 daughters; Karen Schmitt and her husband Steve of Springfield, Missouri, Charlotte Curtis and her husband Mark of Kansas City, Missouri, and Teresa Stump and her husband Marty of Holden, Missouri, 4 grandchildren; Sarah Schmitt, Jeff Schmitt, Bret Stump, and Michelle Stump; 2 step grandchildren, Tyler Curtis and Emily Curtis; 3 nephews, Clayton Troyer, Tom Flint and David Flint; and niece Linda Goodwin.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00pm in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bolivar, with Reverend Bill Hooper and Reverend Ray Leininger officiating with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar. Military honors inter the auspices of the Missouri Military Honors Team.
Friends may call on Thursday morning after 11:00am on the Butler Chapel Bolivar, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm till service time at 2:00pm.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
