Earl L. Calvert's Obituary
Earl L. Calvert, son of George William and Myrtle Mondessa Blankenship Calvert, was born August 31, 1924, in Camden County, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, February 26, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, five months, and twenty-five days. On November 23, 1946, in the feed store in Decaturville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Lula Margaret Martin, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wallace and Birdette Calvert; a sister, Marnie Maxine Calvert; and a half-brother, Zeldon Rainwater. Earl is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Lula, of the home; a daughter, Charlotte Frederick, and her husband, J. B., of Camdenton, Missouri; two sons, Ernie Calvert, and his wife, Jane, of Camdenton, Missouri, and William Earl “Bill” Calvert, and his wife, Nelda, of Trenton, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Teffra Allen, and her husband, Don, Ernie Calvert, Jr., and his wife, Christi, Lesley Frederick, Wesley Frederick, and his wife, Heidi, Kim Manning, and her husband, Jason, Nichole Banuelos, and Cody Morrison, and her husband, Shannon; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Calvert, and his wife, Emma Jean, and Virgil Calvert, all of Camdenton, Missouri; a sister, Irma Jane Sheeley, and her husband, Clemont, of Richland, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Camden County, and then served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II. After he and Lula were married, they made their home in the Camdenton area and lovingly raised their family. He worked in construction for a few years, then in the old Cedar Factory in Linn Creek. In addition to farming most of his life, he was employed for thirty years by Don’s Boat and Motor before retiring. He was very talented in this area and did excellent work. Earl belonged to the V. F. W. Post in Linn Creek, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where he liked to go bird hunting. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in the Myetta Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
