Earl W. Spiegel (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Earl Walter Spiegel, 79, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Earl was born in Spencer, Iowa on June 27, 1943, to Lester and Edna Spiegel. He graduated from Central High School in 1961. After school, he joined the Navy where he was an Airborne Missile Control system operator. He was a self-employed Contractor and land developer until his death. He was baptized in June 1953 in Bolivar and served as a deacon at the Pentecostal Church of God for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending sporting events and working with his hands. He built many residential and commercial buildings in the Polk County area. Earl will be remembered for his sense of humor, jokes, orneriness, and special sound effects. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgeanna Spiegel, son-in-law, Artie Neal, brother Paul Spiegel and sisters-in-law Monte Spiegel and Alice Kay Spiegel and his parents, Lester and Edna Spiegel. Earl is survived by children Michelle Neal, Melissa Burks and husband Robert Burks, Michael Spiegel and wife Miranda Spiegel; grandchildren Stephen and wife Amber Neal, Ryan and wife Rikki Neal, Alex and wife Kaitlin Neal, Hunter and wife Sammy Burks, Hayden Burks, Braidyn and Dakota Spiegel; great-grandchildren, Anna, Axel, Addison, Ellie, Harlee and Parker Neal. He is also survived by his companion of the last eight years, Carol Sharp of Springfield.
Services for Earl will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.
